Rebecca Steinberger

I received my Ph.D. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
My areas of specialization are Shakespeare and
Renaissance drama, postcolonial and new historicist
theory, gender studies, and 20th century Irish literature,
especially drama.

I also serve as the faculty advisor for Instress, the student
literary magazine where I engage students to display their
creativity. I've been published in numerous academic
journals including Nua: Studies in Contemporary Irish
Writing. Last summer, I presented a paper at the London Literary Conference at Goldsmith's College, University Of London. My paper, "Urban Legend: Social Topography of Superstition in Early Modern London", is a result of a project that culminated with research at the British Library.

I also chaired the Confronting Anxieties in Early Modern London panel. In addition, I served as guest editor for a special Ireland and Film issue of Nua: Studies in Contemporary Irish Writing in Winter 2004. This year I will be publishing a book with Ashgate Press on Shakespeare and Irish drama.
