Major: Speech/Language Pathology
Senior (4th year in a five-year program)
Hey there! My name is Ashley Cory and I am a senior
in the Speech-Language Pathology program. I have been
a student at Misericordia University for four years.
What first drew my attention to the campus was the close
knit community and friendly staff. I did an overnight stay
while I was a senior in high school with a girl from the cross country team ( I really recommend doing an overnight, it is a great way to learn more about campus). After staying on campus for the night, I realized that this was the school for me. Everyone that I met was very friendly. I also knew I wanted a smaller school instead of a large school. I went to visit a larger state school in PA, and I didn’t feel comfortable with the campus atmosphere. Not only was the campus too large and impersonal, but the community just didn’t match up to MU’s.
The faculty and staff here are amazing! The professors in my program are always available whenever I need them. Most of them know you on a first name-basis! I am involved in work-study, and I actually get to work in the Vice-President’s of Academic Affairs office. It’s a great way to meet people, including the deans and other faculty, and make some money doing it. My younger sister Jen is now a part of the Misericordia community as a new freshman! She is in the Sport Management program and enjoys the campus as much as I do.
