Well, there isn't too much to say in this blog post... I went home last weekend, and it was very refreshing to see friends from home. I am about 2 hours away, which is a really convenient distance - just far enough away to say I can't afford the gas to visit family too much, and just close enough to go home when I really want to ;-) Anyway, I went out to lunch/dinner for my grandma's 87th birthday... which reminds me, how is 2pm a mealtime? I mean, it's not lunch, and it's not dinner... So, you can't eat lunch beforehand, since then you won't be hungry by 2pm, and then you get hungry at a weird time in the evening because you ate too early for dinner! Jeez louize... Regardless, dinner was very nice. I spent time with friends, as well, and we hit up Starbucks for some Java Chip - mmmmmmm!
So far this week at school I've been pretty active, but not necessarily at exciting things lol. I had my first Spring Break Trip meeting on Monday, which was probably the most excititing part of my week so far actually. I met the other students that are going to Miami, FL, with me, and we did some icebreakers and things to learn each other's names. As a junior at a small school, I must admit that I know pretty much everybody already. Which I LOVE by the way. But, there were a few freshmen that got into the trip, so it was nice to get to know them as well. Last night I finished my watercolor project "A Button Series" - it's a series of 17 2.5"x3.5" paintings with the theme of buttons. (I collect buttons). Only one more watercolor project to go! Tonight in class we learned how to paint the reflections in glass wine bottles, which was pretty cool. For our last project we can do whatever we want, so I took a picture of a guitar and photoshopped it - I'm gonna give it to my dad.
Let's see... what else is there.... oh yeah, tonight after watercolor class I went to my campus ministry team meeting (i think we have them about once a month, all the student coordinators go) and Kristen Mitchell from Americorps VISTA spoke. I would definitely recommend looking up that program - I wish I could do it, but since I'm in an entry-level grad program it seems kind of foolish to take a year of school off :-(
Tomorrow morning I have a really big test for Biological Psychology, and I have to write a short paper for my World Religions course... plus, my physics prof sprung a test on us for next week. yuck. Gotta go!
Ciao
Megan :-)
