Well, fall break is almost here (as in it starts tomorrow). I am extremely excited to not have classes or work! I'm actually not going home this fall break because I'm going camping in New Hampshire with some friends from my church here in Dallas... and I'm pretty sure we're going to freeze to death! lol! No, actually something neat is that the SOAR program here at Miseri, which is a group that does outdoor recreational activities, rents gear to students - meaning that I can rent a 30-below zero sleeping bag for this weekend, even though I'm not even participating in the SOAR program while I'm using it! Pretty sweet, huh?

Let's see... last week on campus we had a guest speaker at my bible study, Beyond Existence. Dr. Asirvatham from the biology department gave a bunch of useful information on evoluation, why scientists believe it, and why some Christians choose not to. It was impressive, since it simply relayed the facts on both sides and remained largely unbiased. Then, on Friday I went to a guest speaker who wrote a book called "The Rape of Mesopotamia." It was all about how museums got looted in the Middle East when it was being bombed by the US. I guess the man that did the presentation is pretty well-known, which is cool that he was here at the Miz.

This last weekend was fairly uneventful. Well, maybe not. I went to a local chili cookoff on Friday night, then headed up to Dickson City on Saturday night for the corn maze. In my opinion, the maze was a bit overpriced (around $8.50) but it was fun. The not-fun part was my van acting funny :-/ I'm supposed to get it checked over tonight, and I'm just crossing my fingers that the transmission is ok, since that would be sooo expensive to fix. Yikes.

Right then, I've got to get to work, so I hope Fall is going well for everyone!

ciao,

Megan
