Well, after the week of tests last week I finally have an off week...no urgent studying, no papers due tomorrow, etc etc etc. It's really really nice to have a chance to just kick back and relax for a few nights... especially after working all day and having night classes in the evenings. This semester I purposely signed up for classes with less work, mostly so that I can focus better on Physics, my one hard class of the semester. So, with the Physics test out of the way until the next one in a couple of weeks, I can finally relax. I still haven't discovered what my grade was on that Physics test... but let's just say the curve will make it or break it :-/ Oh dear.

But, on to lighter news: last weekend I went camping for a friend's birthday, and it was a blast! We had a campfire and we ate fettucini alfredo (yes at camping hahhaha we don't follow any sort of rules) and we had a pumpkin pinata because my friend is OBSESSED with pumpkins. I made her birthday card out of orange construction paper cut in the shape of a pumpkin, that's how obsessed she is. And, her brother cut a pumpkins out of a log with a chainsaw for her birthday present (he's a boy scout... who else would know how to carve a pumpkin with a chainsaw?) AND her parents bought her a pumpkin flower arrangement with orange flowers and a ceramic pumpkin on it. Crazy, huh? The week was pretty eventful. Another friend of mine has this jeep wrangler that he completely tricked out, with humongous tires about 4 feet tall (no lie) and giant suspension coil thingies. He took people out on joy rides with it, which entails driving across the river (seriously, i'm not even joking) and driving up steep embankments and over giant logs and oh dear I thought I was going to faint hahahaha! But, sadly, halfway through the trip that I was on (yikes) something broke up front of the vehicle, and he had to have it towed home (hehehe). So, the towtruck guy comes (my friend has AAA+ and for good reason) and he comes to find a jeep wrangler with 4 foot high wheels. Luckily, he had the right equipment to tow it. But it was pretty hilarious :-)

On campus, I had a meet-and-greet for Spirituality on Tap through Campus Ministry and we had a good number of students come out. It was fun, and we ate many pretzels :-) Thursday night was fun, too. At the Arena bar and grill in Wilkes Barre they are getting ready for Oktoberfest with autumn beers, and I tried a Blue Moon Pumpkin with my meal. Mmmmm delicious! The quality of the meal sort of made up for the scantily clad waitresses in their green and orange german suspender outfits with miniskirts (I'm pretty sure German ladies don't actually wear those things).

And now, it is time to relax on the couch and read a good book :-)

Ciao

Megan
