Hey ya'll = )
I hope everyone had a great weekend!! I know I certainly did! Friday was a very relaxing day as our team had off from practice- which was nice and relaxing for basically our bodies haha although I still went down to the gym to shoot around that day. That night instead of our weekly visit to Subway I decided to go for a little Emeril in the kitchen to cook a dinner. Now for people that know me, I am not the best at cooking. Now microwaving I am a pro at! However, once you start mixing in the oven and then the stove- I have some difficulties but it is a work in progress I think! My little sister and some of my teammates came down to where I live- in the townhouses- because we have our own kitchen in our house. Now for our dinner selection... drumroll please... SPAGHETTI!! Well at least that was what I attempted to cook, we also made mac n cheese (which is my ultimate favorite food ever- yes I have high expectations with food haha), some hamburger bread (that kind of got a little burnt but thats ok we still had plenty of other food), and then finally my housemate and teammate Julia made some cookies. Everything was turning out well (I mastered boiling water WHOOT WHOOT!) and dinner was going great until our fire alarm kept going off. We had no clue why so we kept looking around because the only thing that was left cooking was the cookies. We took out the pan of cookies and on the bottom of the pan was a hot mat stuck to it that Julia forgot to take off! Hahahaha! Well college is a growing up period so now Julia and everyone else for that matter now knows to always look underneath pans and trays before putting anything in the oven. If not- say hello to the fire alarm!! At any rate the cookies were really good once they were fire proofed and done cooking!
Saturday was a very very rainy day- boo. Rainy days you just want to stay in bed and lounge around but not this Saturday. We had early practice- 10-12. Our practice started off a little rough as some of our heads were not mentally there, but we got more into it as the practice progressed which was good for us. After our practice, my little sister, her roomate, and myself went to the guys soccer game. It was senior day and I knew some of the seniors on the team that I wanted to cheer for- even if it was in the down pouring rain! ugh! Let me tell you, standing in a downpour with no umbrella just a hoodie and sweatpants on is not the best feeling in the world. Thankfully a nice parent let us borrow an umbrella! Even with the umbrella though- we were all SOAKED! This is why I am thankful everyday that I chose an indoor sport haha- climate controled! Later that night we had a team bonding night where our whole team went to a haunted house. Just picture a group of 10 girls going into a very scary scary haunted house- yes it was filled with very high pitch screams haha! I was probably one of the biggest babies on the team as I may be tough on the court, but when people are inches away from my face in very scary costumes- well you get the picture I scream veryyy loudly! It was super scary where we went (Horror Hall in Nanticoke) but it was a fun team bonding time! The rest of the night I just relaxed and some watched the phillies game which they WON!!!! I was super pumped they are my team and are kicking butt so far!
Today we didn't have practice until 6 so I relaxed most of the day and did some homework and relaxed. I tried to get ahead with my homework but I get distracted very easily and what was more appealing today was learning a dance for "single ladies" by beyonce. Julia and I love that song right now and we definately youtube the video and tried to learn the dance. It was a very funny site as our dance moves normally consist of the sprinkler and shopping cart if you know what I mean! haha - Practice today went well and we got back just in time to give candy to the trick or treaters that came to campus! It certainly makes me feel old though giving out candy as I remember when I was going from house to house to trick or treat (yeah that was in high school still haha- hey dressing up goofy and getting free candy where can you go wrong?!) The rest of the night I dedicated myself to school work and of course watching the Phils being victorious again!!!! Well now its time for bedtime - to start another week of school! Here we gooooo....
Stay Safe = )
