Students are scheduled within a day or two of their orientation, and because they are trained on the portal (e-MU), they can look at class schedules in advance before coming to campus. You should receive this training during your one-day orientation visit in the summer.
Typically classes on Monday, Wednesday, Friday (MWF) run from 8am to 3pm. Classes on Tuesday & Thursday (T&R) typically run from 8am to 5pm. There is the potential for night classes, though you probably won't find yourself in one during the first semester.
Also note that your schedules will be flexible. You may not have class on a certain day till the afternoon. If you must miss a class, it is strongly encouraged you notify your professor in advance and make arrangements to catch up on what you missed. Most professors are good about this, as long as it doesn't become a regular occurrence.
Hope this helps!
