Hey again! As far as your question is concerned, I wrote a post in response to the 'other then education' post about all the different activities to do on campus and on the weekends. If you would like to know more than the things I wrote let me know!
In regards to our community service programs, we have an outstanding group of programs for students to get involved in. There are spring break service trips that students go on around the US, College for Girls/ Boys (going out into the community with children in the area that come from low income families and mentor them, like big brothers- big sisters), Krafts for Kids, Habitat for Humanity, Moon Lake clean up trips, Penn State Wilkes Barre recycling, Adopt A Grandparent, Ruth's place (a volunteer program where you go to a woman's shelter and do work with the residents), First Book, Diversity Club, etc. Additionally, our Campus Ministry department runs many of the programs I listed above, as well as a plethora of other service activities. Many of the classes you will take also have service learning components to them. What that means is that it is required that students in the course participate in a certain amount of community service activities each semester.
It's awesome that you're interesed in community service, as our school is really big on helping out different organizations. The majors each have their own clubs as well, and the clubs work hard to incorporate as much community service into their programs as possible. If you want more information about any of this, call the admissions office at 570-674-3349 and they will send you some more information of different opportunities that may be available for you to participate in.
